Vermont Department of Education Projects

Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA) - All publicly-funded second graders in Vermont participate in this assessment, during which students read short books and answer questions about what they read. Assessors calibrate online in the spring before administering the DRA. Results of the DRA are reviewed annually by professionals at the Summer Auditing Institute. Vermont Alternate Assessment (VAA) - (Formerly PAAGE - Portfolio Assessment of Alternate Grade Expectations) This alternate assessment program is scored annually by professionals at the Summer Scoring Institute. The site can also be reached at www.vtalt.com.
